Comments about BA French Studies - At the institution - Sheffield - South Yorkshire

  • Objectives
Acquiring a high standard of oral and written fluency is central to all levels of the course. At level one we introduce you to French society and culture, from the medieval period to the present day, including film studies. We also look at modern French history and institutions. Further specialist options in these areas are taught at level two. After the year abroad, your final year of study at level three consolidates and perfects linguistic and analytical skills. We have a spacious, well-stocked library and the Modern Languages Teaching Centre is close at hand. The student society, the Cercle Français, arranges a regular programme of social events and stages an annual play.
