  • Objectives
    German and Business Studies has a strong focus on German components covering language, politics and culture in the period from 1918 to the present day, but is also designed for those with a vocational interest in business. As part of your language teaching you will receive special tuition in Business German. Half your modules will be located in the department of German Studies; the other half will be provided by the Warwick Business School and include options such as Introduction to Business Law, Accounting and Finance, Advertising and Marketing and a number of related areas.
  • Entry requirements
    General university admissions requirements All applicants must possess a minimum level of competence in English Language and in Mathematics or a Science. A pass at Grade C or above in GCSE English Language and in Mathematics or a Science, or an equivalent qualification, fulfils this requirement. For some courses, requirements are above this University minimum, so you should check the relevant course-specific entry requirements in our hard copy prospectus which you can order online or browse on our online directory. We usually ask for candidates to show a broad base of study at GCSE level (or equivalent) with passes in at least five subjects from a range of disciplines.

    -Management, Organisation, and Society I and II; Quantitative Analysis for Management I and II; Foundations for Accounting and Finance.

    Year Two

    -Modern German Language.
    -Culture and Politics in the Weimar Republic and the Third Reich.
    -Quantitative Methods for Resource Management; Organisational Behaviour; Marketing Analysis; Management Accounting; Industrial Relations; Economics II; Quantitative Methods for Multivariate Analysis; Principles of Finance; Financial Reporting; Economics of Strategy.

    Year Three

    Spent in a German-speaking country at a university and/or in a work placement.

    Year Four

    -Modern German Language.
    -Business and Society in Contemporary Germany.
