    Entry requirements * A minimum of 220 points, based upon a minimum of two A levels or equivalent * Pass at GCSE at C or above (or the equivalent) in English Language and Maths * Applications from Access students and other mature entrants are welcomed * For candidates who are over 21 without A Level qualifications it may be possible to establish eligibility through the submission of a satisfactory portfolio reflecting prior learning * Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months or 700 hours voluntary or work-based experience at the point of entry to the programme. This is experience other than placement based experience obtained during a college training programme * All suitable candidates are required to attend a selection day where they have to successfully complete a group interview, literacy and numeracy test * Interviewees complete Occupational Health and Criminal Records Disclosure forms, and must have CRB clearance prior to placemen * The Faculty encourages applications from students from a variety of backgrounds, identities and life experiences, including those from ethnic minorities and people with a disability.

    Programme

    Throughout the programme, students undertake taught modules and practical placements. Taught modules in Year One include Foundation Studies and Fitness for Practice, Social Work Theory and Practice, Law Rights and Policy and Society, Organisation and Practice. During Years Two and Three, students study social work themes in more depth and undertake modules in Research and Ethics, Social Work Skills and Multidisciplinary Working. The programme includes 200 days of placement experience in a variety of settings, during which students learn to integrate theory and practice in order to prepare them for professional registration.
