Comments about Business Administration MBA - At the institution - Manchester - Greater Manchester

  • Objectives
The programme aims to equip candidates with the broad range of business skills which are necessary to achieve this progression. The Manchester MBA offers two features highly prized by employers. A genuinely international experience and a style of learning - the Manchester Method - which encourages you to co-operate with your colleagues and to apply what you are learning to real-life managerial situations. Our programme is long enough to allow you to learn the theory and then put it into practice through company projects. Students on the Manchester MBA are able to take advantage of the School's numerous links with blue-chip employers, and its graduates achieve an average of 128% increase in salary in the three years following graduation. The Manchester MBA is accredited by AACSB International, AMBA (The Association of MBAs), and EQUIS.

    Module details

Alongside the core course units, you work on two projects which address different managerial situations. Project 1, the Business Management Project, offers you the chance to explore management in a dynamic environment; Project 2 is taken from a selection on offer and builds on what you have learnt so far, adding in more complexity and variables and a 'live' external client. The MBA stage of the programme, the final nine months, is all about choice. You may choose to specialise in a certain area, such as finance, entrepreneurship, marketing or strategy, by selecting options from the broad range of electives, projects and other options. Alternatively, you may choose to pursue an international career and opt for the international study opportunities. Students have the opportunity to compete for a place on the MBA international exchange programme. This programme gives you the opportunity to experience a different business culture first hand; make contact with potential employers in your chosen country; and take specialist elective courses to complement those at Manchester Business School. Students also complete a 12-week compulsory International Business Project - an international consultant assignment for a company.
