    Who is this course for? A day release course for people aged 16-24 who are already in work.. You will need to have found a job / long-term placement by the time you start your apprenticeship, we will be running a short programme to help those young people without a job to find work before the commencement of the course. What do I need to get on the course? Age 16-19 # Access to Apprenticeship programme and have found employment or, if already employed # 4 GCSEs ad grade A-C, including maths at grade C and # Reference from your employer 19 years and over You will have completed the Access to Apprenticeship program and have found employment If already employed You will be offered an interview to assess your suitability for the programme and at what level, you will also need a reference from your employer.

  • Course description
    What is this course about?
    An apprenticeship is a training programme that allows you to earn whilst you learn. You will be assessed for a qualification whilst you work. Therefore, it is expected that will already be in employment and have permission from your employer to attend training at the College for one day per week. This programme focuses on working within the finance industry.

    What will I study?
    You will study a competence based qualification that relates to your job role. This will be assessed in your work place by a College assessor. In College you will study a separate qualification that teaches you additional skills and knowledge to be successful at your chosen career. You will study key skills in numeracy and communication.

    On the Apprenticeship programme you complete the NVQ Level 3 in Accounting (AAT Foundation Level) and prepare for the Advanced Apprenticeship in Accounting, and employment as an accounts assistant, book-keeper or sales ledger clerk.

    You will cover topics such as:

    - financial records and accounts
    - working with computers, reports and returns
    - recording and evaluating cost.

    You must pass all the elements of the apprenticeship to achieve the full apprenticeship qualification

    Level 3 - Advanced Apprenticeship in Accounting (AAT level 3)

    What can I do after the course?
    If you have achieved at Level 3, you can progress onto Higher Education to complete a Foundation degree or go into full time employment.
