    Who is this course for? Young people aged 16-18. What do I need to get on the course? You need four GCSEs at grade D or above including one humanities subject or a GNVQ Foundation or BTEC First Diploma with merit or distinction and basic/key skills in communication and application of number at level 1. You must show evidence of an interest in health and social care. You must provide one reference and attend an interview, where you can show your record of achievement or other examples of work. Some work experience in the care services would be useful.

    What will I study?

    Units include: Communication and Individual Rights within Health and Social Care Sectors, Individual Needs in health and social care sectors, Vocational experience in Health and Social Care Setting. You will have the opportunity to develop your key skills: communications, number and IT keyskills, . An ESOL qualification is also offered if appropriate.

    What can I do after the course?

    Successful students may progress to:

        * A-Level Health and Social care
        * BTEC National Diploma in Health Studies
        * Access courses, including Access to Nursing, Social Work and other HealthCareProfessions
        * Employment in health and social care.
