  • Course description
        Students will learn how to use the sewing machine controls, threading techniques, embroidery stitches etc. The course will focus on designing and making small, sewn items for the home
        At the end of the course you will:
        - be able to use a sewing machine and over-locker
        - use various skills to make a sewing holder
        - make seams, put in a zip, & use different finishing skills
        - be encouraged to design and make your own projects
        - have completed several projects
        - have the opportunity to share skills and ideas

    Course Structure:
        Students will work on their own .
        They will be given one to one teaching and at their own pace covering various subjects.
        They will be given constant guidance and group teaching, to introduce new ideas via weekly group demonstrations.
        Maximum 14 students

    Course resources:
        Students will have access to a workroom with Bernina machines and over-lockers. Irons and boards, scrap fabric will be available

    Assessment:
        Photos of completed work, displays, Self assessment with Individual Learning Plans
