    To offer knowledge and expertise for a career in teaching and learning (in schools and colleges, as well as adult and work-related settings), education/training organisations and management, educational administration and support services. There is a progression route from the MSc to the Professional Doctorate (EdD) programme.

    Entry Requirements:

    A good first degree or a recognised equivalent qualification. Non-graduates will be considered if they can demonstrate, through some recent and relevant professional experience (normally 2 years experience is required) that they have the ability to undertake the course.



    This course is particularly suitable for professionals and others seeking advanced level study of education. A background in education or social sciences is desirable. Credit exemption may be given against accredited prior learning, prior professional experience and professional development, including NPQH/NPQSL.



    Where English is not a first language, or for those who have not had a substantial part of their education taught in the English language, a score of 575 on TOEFL or band 6.5 on IELTS is required.

    Course Description:
    This is a one year full-time or between 2 and 5 years part-time course. All students follow the core module: Principles and Practice of Research Design; and then choose from a list of options. After successful completion of the taught element, students undertake a 20,000 word dissertation.
