    Content details
    This course provides students with the core technical knowledge and practical skills required to work at Level 2 as required by industry. It will teach you how to install electrical systems and equipment. It also includes construction technology, information technology, health and safety, communications and numeracy key skills.

    How is the course taught
    The learning programme consists of 80% Theory in the classroom and 20% practical training in the workshop.

    Assessment
    The course is assessed through course work and six week block assessments, practical and theory assignments and an external examination.

    Course leads to

    Progression to the 2nd year to complete Level 2. This would be the start to completing the Modern Apprenticeship Framework.

    Employers Benefit
    After the 1st yr. Learners should be able to connect and fix electrical accessories. Route and fix wiring systems and enclosures within an installation. After the 2nd yr., learners should be able to fully wire circuits and carry out the basic testing for the circuits
