The Camilo José Cela University is a young university, recognised at the end of the 1990s, by the Spanish Law 18/1998. It is an independent institution, with no political, religious or other connections. The work of the university is based on four major principles: "teaching in reduced groups of 25 to 40 students", a competent and properly trained teaching staff which uses a communicative and participative methodology; "the use of New Technologies", which the university takes special care for; and study plans "designed with a significant practical slant" for which practical experience is compulsory.
