  • Objectives
    The course aims to provide an integrated framework for the conception and delivery of successful international events through the core aspects of organisational management and operations. The framework shall be delivered via management theories surrounding the management of events in the context of the events industry; and the application of these theories, tools and strategic approaches to the operational delivery of live events, within the global context. The first half of the course is delivered, in English, at CHN in the beautiful town of Leeuwarden in the northern part of the Netherlands; the second half of the course allows you to experience the vibrancy of London. As part of your studies, opportunities will be provided to participate in a ‘Grand Tour’ Events Management field trip to Qatar, and to undertake an internship within the industry. The course shall be delivered through a mixture of lectures, seminars, problem-based learning, learning technologies, field trips, and guest lectures from industry. The course structure consists of modules that examine the Events and Live Media Industries, Imagineering and the Experience Economy, Events Marketing, Research Methods, Strategic Management, and the Management of the Event Experience.
  • Entry requirements
    -A good (minimum lower second-class) undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (such as Marketing, Business, International Business, Public Relations, Tourism, Hospitality, Leisure); or -For those students who do not hold a degree or relevant professional qualification, extensive relevant work experience (3-5 years) together with evidence of scholarly ability is required -Written and spoken English language ability tested to IELTS 6.0, or TOEFL 580 (paper based) or 237 (computer based)

    Assessment
    Assessment is through a variety of methods such as group presentations, problem-based learning exercises, coursework, reports, and examination.

    This internationally unique Masters programme provides a progressive Events Management curriculum delivered by London’s leading Events Management education provider in partnership with CHN Leeuwarden in the Netherlands; specialists in the management of service economies in the Leisure context. This course represents an extension to a 15-year alliance between the two institutions.
