    This course will give you a comprehensive understanding of the world's most popular construction material. You will gain the analysis and design skills necessary to design structures in challenging environments. You will benefit from the facilities of the largest academic concrete research centre in the UK, with international-level expertise in cement chemistry, aggregate science, binder technology, concrete durability, alternative concrete materials, structural performance and design, earthquake and nuclear reactor design and finite element analysis. The course provides a sound theoretical background and encourages innovation.

    Entry requirements: UK second class Honours degree (BEng, MEng, BSc - equivalent GPA 2.1- 3.0) or MSc in Civil Engineering or other appropriate engineering, mathematics or science discipline. Our standard English requirement is IELTS 6.5 (with no marks less than 5.5 in each component) or a TOEFL score of 575 (Paper Based Test) or 232 in CBT (Computer Based Test) or TOEFL iBT (internet Based Test) score of 90-91. We will consider applicants offering appropriate professional qualifications and experience. In this case we require a strong background in areas covered in your chosen course.
