Entry At least a good second class honours degree is required in Sports Science or Health, (e.g. nursing, physiotherapy, Medicine, Osteopathy). Students with a 2:2 Degree or a Degree from a different academic area will also be considered. Advice and guidance regarding the suitability of applicants will be given on an individual basis. Bridging modules are available to ensure that students have the necessary academic skills and knowledge to commence an MSc programme of study.

MSc Exercise Rehabilitation

Our MSc in Exercise Rehabilitation is aimed at Sport Science or Health graduates, interested in developing their expertise and knowledge base in exercise and rehabilitation.

You will study modules in Research Skills, Disability and Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation of the Injured Athlete and Clinical Exercise Physiology (including disease and aging). You will undertake Supervised Experience, an Independent study and a Dissertation relevant to Exercise Rehabilitation. The Supervised Experience module and Dissertation will be tailored to the needs of the individual, and could involve directed work with a specific client or patient.

The programme is delivered using a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, seminars, workshops, group activities, practical work, tutorials and role play. Each module comprises approximately 200 hours (including formal contact).  
Professional Accreditation

You may have the opportunity to prepare for the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) supervisory experience training, which is normally a pre-requisite of the Association's professional accreditation.

BASES also organises an annual student conference.  Former MSc students have won prestigious awards for ‘Best Postgraduate Verbal Presentation’ and ‘Best Postgraduate Poster Presentation’ at the BASES Student Conferences. These awards are open to MSc and PhD students from all UK Universities.
