    This innovative and flexible programme provides an excellent opportunity to study for a postgraduate qualification. The Advanced Healthcare Practice route is one of two routes within our modular MSc programme - the other route is Healthcare Management.
  • Entry requirements
    The modular MSc programme has been designed with both clinician and manager inmind. The programme is multiprofessional and will be of particular interest to experienced healthcare professionals such as: -Doctors -Nurses -Pharmacists -Radiographers -Physiotherapists -Dentists -Occupational Therapists -Dieticians -Non-Clinical Managers (Health Care Management)

    Programme Structure

    The programme is usually taken over three years part-time, though flexibility permits up to five years to complete. The first year constitutes “Route Specific” modules related to either Advanced Healthcare Practice or Healthcare Management. Year two allows for sharing of core modules across routes, allowing for
    a greater appreciation of multi professional diversity.

    The core modules include:

    -Advanced Healthcare Practice (AHP)
    -Research (AHP/HCM)
    -Health Economics (HCM)
    -Project Management (HCM)
    -Advancing Leadership through Action
    -Learning(AHP/HCM)
    -Comparative Health Policy (AHP/HCM)

    The programme also incorporates a range of optional choice modules including:

    Healthcare Management

    -Information Management
    -Individual Study
    -Finance and Commissioning
    -Planning and Managing Education for organisational development
    -Entry Requirements
    -Potential applicants must be employed in a relevant health related area.
    -First degree
    -Basic computer skills
    -Students without Level 3 credits (ie non graduates) may gain entry to the programme through comprehensive portfolio and evidence of written work/Diploma level qualification in a health related discipline.

    Delivery

    The modular MSc operates on an afternoon/evening time slot once per week. Some modules involve distance learning material or clinically based activities making the programme more flexible
