  • Entry requirements
    Entry requirements The programme is available for medical graduates and for graduates with a good Honours degree (2.1 or equivalent) in a relevant clinical subject including physiotherapy and other professions allied to medicine. Alternative qualifications in science-based programmes or relevant experience may be acceptable. A British Council IELTS score of at least 6.5 with no component less than 6.0 (or equivalent qualification) is required for overseas students who do not have English as their first language.

    MSc (MedSci): 12 months full-time; 24 months part-time

    The programme provides a thorough grounding in the principles and practice of sports medicine and the opportunity to follow a successful career in this area, either in the UK or overseas. Graduates from this programme are provided with the knowledge and experience necessary for engaging in, and contributing to, current debates about major issues in sports medicine. An additional research component allows the development of valuable skills for practising and interpreting research.

    Content

    The programme is split into five courses and culminates in an independent research project. The courses offered are:

        * Exercise in cardiac disease
        * Exercise in medical conditions
        * Sports injuries: principles and organisation
        * Site and sports specific injuries
        * Drugs in sport.
