    Applicants will normally have gained

    (i) an honours or non-honours degree or

    (ii) an equivalent standard (normally 50%) in a Postgraduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate or an approved professional or other qualification; or

    (iii) provide evidence of their ability to undertake the course through the accreditation of prior experiential learning
    · have successfully completed an undergraduate research module (or equivalent learning)
    · an appropriate qualification relevant to the programme; health professionals must hold UK Registration
    · current experience with patients relevant to the programme; and
    · provide evidence of competence in written and spoken English (GCSE grade C or equivalent); or International students will have a score of 6.5 on the IELTS test with a score of 5.5 on each sub-scale.

    It leads to the academic awards of PGDip or MSc in Palliative Care.

    The requirements for the awards are:

    MSc in Palliative Care
    180 credit points at levels 3 and M.
    Up to 30 credits may be taken at level 3.

    PGDip in Palliative Care
    120 credit points at levels 3 and M.
    Up to 30 credits may be taken at level 3.

    The Postgraduate Diploma includes five core modules and an additional optional module. To complete the MSc students will also complete a 60-credit point research project.
