Remote Sensing with Geographical Information Systems, MSc/PGDip
  • Course description
This programme provides training in the use of remote sensing and image processing techniques in conjunction with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in the management, analysis and display of spatial/environmental data.

Applied remote sensing trains the student in research methodologies through the integrated application of remote sensing techniques to a small project. This work ranges over project planning procedures, field data acquisition and ground truthing, data collection, input analysis, field checking, output and reporting.

The programme culminates in the remote sensing dissertation, an individual piece of research focused on the application of remote sensing techniques to a specific problem. This research may form an extension or development of topics covered in the preceding applications and case studies courses.
