Course descriptionGeneral information
The beauty therapy advanced apprenticeship is available for learners aged from 16-65 who are employed in the beauty industry and who have previously completed the level 2 NVQ. College attendance is on a day-release basis and assessment will take place in the workplace. Learners are required to build a portfolio of evidence to prove their skills, understanding and knowledge of the subject. Training is provided through salon sessions, tutorials and classroom teaching. On successful completion of this programme, learners will be classified as fully skilled beauty therapists.
Course content
In-house training will take place one day a week and regular assessments and reviews will occur in the workplace. Learners will work towards an NVQ level 3 in Beauty Therapy, level 2 Keyskills in Application of Number and Communication, health and safety and Employers’ Rights and Responsibilities.
