BA American Studies

  • Objectives As the 21st Century advances, never has studying the history and culture of America been more important. American Studies provides a greater understanding, not only of America's profound influence upon the world, but also of the way the world regards America, in an increasingly controversial context. Within our Joint Honours programme, you will study American Studies alongside History, Media, English Literature or Film Studies. You can choose different modules, according to your areas of interest. You can also take advantage of a brilliant opportunity to study at an American university on a one-semester exchange programme.
  • Entry requirements Entry requirements You will need three GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent), including English Language, plus one of the following: * 160 points (including a minimum of two A2 Levels or a 12 unit AVCE or a combination) or * 160 points from BTEC National Diploma/Certificate or * Equivalent Scottish, Irish,Welsh or overseas qualifications or an equivalent qualification to those listed above (eg Access to Higher Education certificate, International Baccalaureate)
