Not only did the QAA express confidence in our programmes, but the report commented that, "Teaching staff, including visiting lecturers, are highly qualified and demonstrate a high level of engagement with the subject discipline, enhancing the student learning experience."

    Year 1

    You take four 30-credit Level 1 modules including two Drama modules: Introduction to Theatre Studies and Theatre Practice. You are strongly encouraged to take a third module in Drama, Languages of Theatre. You then take a further module from: Media and Cultural Studies, English, Film Studies, French, History, International Relations, Philosophy, Politics, Sociology or Spanish.

    Years 2 and 3

    You take four 30-credit modules at each level. If you wish, you may specialise completely and take all eight modules in Drama, or you may vary your studies by taking one module in another subject at Level 2. At Level 2 you must take the two compulsory performance modules: Ways of Acting/Ways of Directing, and Narrative and Performance. You choose at least one further module from the following: Sex, Satire and Sentiment; The Development of Modern European Drama; Representing the Self/Representing Others.

    At Level 3 you must either complete the dissertation in Drama module or the Performance Project. You choose three further modules from those available from the following list: British Drama Since 1945; Twentieth-Century American Drama; Avant-Garde Theatre, Theatre as Social Intervention.
