    Programme

Studying International Relations allows you to combine a deep understanding of contemporary world politics with another relevant discipline like Politics, Journalism, History, Law or Media Studies.

Year One introduces students to current debates and key concepts in International Relations and the impact of globalisation at an individual, societal and global level.

In Year Two students study a core module in International Relations Theory. This gives them a theoretical toolkit for understanding world politics. In addition, they can look at EU Politics, US Foreign Policy or the Making of the Global World. There is the chance to study abroad for a semester.

Year Three allows students to conduct a supervised research project on a topic of their choice. They can take modules on Britain and the EU, globalisation, ethnic conflict, US interventions since Vietnam, the Middle East or International Security. They can also undertake a work placement.
