    2 Years: AS in Year 1 leading to A2 in Year 2

    What does it include?
    AS Level:
    Unit 1: Historical Themes in Bredth
    D6: Ideology, Conflict and Retreat: USA in Asia, 1950-1973
    D7: Politics, Presidency and Society in the USA, 1968-2001

    Unit 2: British Historical Depth Studies
    E1: British Political History 1945-1990: Conflict and Consensus

    A2 Level:
    Unit 3: Depth Studies and Hisotrical Controversies
    D1: From Kaiser to Fuhrer, 1900-1945

    Unit 4: Historical Enquiry
    CW40: 20th Century International Relations

    How will I be assessed?
    Units 1 and 2 on the AS are tested by external examination. Unit 3 on the A2 is also assessed by external examination. Unit 4 on the A2 is however internally asessed by TWO pieces of coursework.

    What do I need to get on to it?
    You should have GCSE Grade C in GCSE English. GCSE Grade C in History is a useful extra.  History is a very challenging A level requiring detailed analysis, the ability to think independently and produce regular, detailed written material are essential.
