Course - Old World Wines 1

  • Course description Course Description

This course focuses on France with an emphasis on place rather than grape varieties. We will cover factors such as climate, soil, history and winemaking techniques which may help explain characteristics in the wines.

What else do I need to buy? / What extra costs are there?

For these courses there will be a weekly charge for cost of wine (£5 - £15 depending on the course – to be advised by tutor), in addition to the course cost. Please note that this figure may go up on some weeks to balance unexpected absences, as students tend to prefer spending a little more rather than cutting back on the samples. This budget should allow us to try older, mature wines as well as top-end classics. Students are also welcome to bring suitable food to the classes. Six glasses are included in the cost of the course. They must be taken home by the students after each class.
