    No previous woodwork skills are required.

  • Course description What is this course about?
    This course will give beginners a thorough grounding in the basic principles of woodwork, i.e. joints and techniques, which they can than use on a project. People with some experience can extend their knowledge and skills by working on their own projects., ,

    What will I study?
    As a beginner you will learn how to use woodwork tools and practise a series of joints and techniques. You will learn about different types of wood and how to select and buy these, basic technical drawing, project development and design, tool sharpening and how to use a variety of powertools. These skills you can then use on project. People with some experience can extend their knowledge and skills by using advanced techniques on a project.

    What can I do after the course?

    Continue progressing by attending following terms at City and Islington College, or move on to Certified Courses, such as City and Guilds or Degree courses, or other related crafts such as furniture restoration, picture framing etc.
