Environmental Systems Science (Graduate Certificate - Graduate Diploma)
ObjectivesFor those with some prior education in this field, this programme will refresh your knowledge of the manipulation of climate, environmental modelling, pollution and coastal processes, and management. It highlights the benefits brought to resource management by technical advances in remote sensing and automated cartography, and introduces you to the principles of geographic information systems and environmental modelling.
Entry requirementsEntry requirements Degree in geography, or with geography or other related subject. Other qualifications may be taken into consideration.

Graduate Diploma: complete modules worth 60 credits, plus an independent geographical study (worth 60 credits), to a total of 120 credits.
Modules are chosen from:
-Applied Hydrology (15 credits)
-Coastal Processes and Management (30 credits)
-Environmental Modelling (15 credits)
-Experimental Geomorphology (15 credits)
-Principles of Geographic Information Systems (30 credits)
-Remote Sensing and Image Processing (15 credits).
Teaching

Assessment
A combination of unseen examinations and coursework.
