  • Course description Who is this course for?
    Students with an interest in Fashion and anyone wanting to know how to draft basic blocks and adapt them into patterns for own designs. Suitable for beginners or anyone wanting to further develop existing skills. Throughout the year each 10 week session will cover one block, either skirt, bodice, dress or trouser block Throughout the year each 10 week session will cover one block, either skirt, bodice, dress or trouser block

    What qualifications or experience do I need ?
    Basic mathematics for calculating measurements is advisable. Please bring a calculator.

    What will I study ?
    Learners will explore drafting skirt, bodice, dress and trouser blocks to standard measurements and adapting these to suit a variety of styles and designs.

    How will I be assessed ?
    Internal assessment

    What qualifications could I achieve ?
    College Certificate Also opportunity for credits against Foundation Degree modules

    What can the course lead to ?
    Progression onto further Foundation Degree modules, a full time course or training/employment.

    Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ?
    Approximately 50-70 for pattern cutting equipment.(optional)
