Entry requirementsThe postgraduate programmes are open both to graduates and to non-graduates with equivalent professional experience. -Graduates with an Honours degree at high 2:2 or above in Theology and/or Biblical Studies and/or Religious Studies will register for the Master of Arts degree. -All other students will be asked to demonstrate competence at Masters level, and then will progress to the Master of Arts.

The programme is for adults who wish to gain advanced awards and candidates training for ordained and lay ministry in the churches. However, while the Faculty of Education & Theology has many links with the churches, we are keen to emphasise that students are invited from all faiths and none.
Modules may include:

-Theologies of Liberation
-Religion & Ethics
-Judaism
-Christianity & Culture
-Christian Liturgy
-Religion & Gender
-Peace & World Religions
-Alternative Spiritualities
-Theological Reflections on a Practical Placement
-A topic of your own choice within Theology & Religious Studies
Attendance
You may begin studies in October, January or April of each academic year. The study is normally part-time taking between two and four years, but there is some provision for full-time study. The modules normally comprise ten weekly evening sessions of two hours each. You are expected to engage in substantial independent study. There are also dissertations which are mandatory for those studying the MA. Independent, supervised research may comprise up to one half of an MA degree. Student attendance/participation is expected for at least 80 per cent of the sessions per term.
Assessment
Each termly module will be assessed by assignments totalling 6,000 words, the title(s) of which may be negotiated with the module tutor.
