Entry requirementsThis course is suitable for students who are interested in international politics as well as a more critical and interdisciplinary approach to global issues. Due to its content it is relevant for those wishing to pursue careers in a variety of sectors. The programme also provides a basis of knowledge for students who wish to pursue further research at doctorate level.

Students undertake two core modules:
Core modules:
-International Relations theory
-Globalisation and Geopolitics
-Students are then permitted to select a combination from a suite of different module options, ranging from research methodology modules to modules on human rights and critical investigations of security and political economy.

-Issues in Research Design
-Conducting Social Research
-Human Rights Law
-Protecting Human Rights: Globally, Locally and Everyday
-Human Rights Ethics
-Critical Readings in Human Rights, Terror and Violence
-International Political Economy of East Asia
-European Union Integration and Enlargement
Assessment
Modules are taught in the evenings between 6 and 9 pm. Teaching is generally conducted by lectures and seminars. Personal supervision is provided in support of the writing of a dissertation. Module performance is assessed by coursework and the main dissertation.
Career progression
This degree opens possibilities to pursue a range of careers, which typically include teaching, working for a NGO or government agency, the media, writing and publishing, consultancy work and employment in the private sector. It is also an excellent foundation for further postgraduate study. The written presentation, oral communication and analytical skills developed by the programme are transferable to a wide variety of careers
