Programme modules for MA Digital Humanities

    Computing in historical studies

This module will begin with close attention to historiography and in particular its relation to humanities computing. You will examine numerical computation, statistical analysis and graphical representation , using text mark-up and analysis techniques, with a special emphasis on database design, construction and manipulation and information analysis.

Methods and techniques of Humanities computing
The module acquaints you with the standard ways in which the computer is applied to humanities data. You engage directly in modelling each problem by designing and implementing a digital representation of it, investigating how far it replaces the original and how new things can be done with the representation.

    Modes of publication
This module covers publication in both old and new media, with attention to the technology and conventions of print publication as an essential background to intelligent use of techniques for online and interactive publication.
