  • Course description The Accounting and Financial Management MSc is a new and exciting development at Coventry University Business School. The programme is designed as an advanced programme for students who have already obtained a first degree (or equivalent) in accounting and finance.

    The Accounting and Financial Management MSc has been specifically designed to meet the growing demand from industry for rigorous and well-trained researchers and practitioners. With the rapid growth of global change in all organisations, economies and societies, the need for highly qualified accounting and finance practitioners trained at Masters’ degree level has never been higher.

    The main feature of this programme is that it covers both advanced accounting and financial management modules. This gives a certain level of flexibility to students who want to explore more before specialising in a particular area.

    Course content

    In addition to training on functional accounting and finance topics, the Accounting and Financial Management MSc programme also develops students’ quantitative and research skills, through undertaking either a traditional dissertation or, if approved, a company internship module in their final semester.

    Teaching, learning and assessment
    Teaching and learning are in the forms of formal lectures, discussions and directed readings with the exception of research methods and dissertation.  All modules are formally assessed by both coursework and examination.

    The research methods module is assessed by a written project proposal and the dissertation module is assessed by an about 15,000 words dissertation.
