  • Entry requirements Good UK Honours Degree (minimum of a lower second class) or an overseas degree recognised by Aston University, plus two references. International students whose native language is not English and have not completed a full degree programme taught in English, will also need a TOEFL score of 600 (paper based) or 250 (computer based) with a TWE of 4.5 equivalent to 100 (internet-based) with a minimum score of 23 in writing and speaking and 20 in reading and listening OR an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in reading and listening. Pre-sessional English language programmes are available for good applicants whose English qualification falls just short of these requirements.

  • Course description Work Psychology is a topic that is at the core of our understanding of healthy and effective organisations and employees. The course is designed for graduates with a good first degree in psychology who intend to make careers as work or organisational psychologists and who also want to gain some wider business awareness. It gives psychologists a unique opportunity to study business alongside specialist work psychology modules and will enable students to operate within a global workplace.

    Two elective modules are chosen from:

        * Accounting for Non Financial Managers
        * Economic Environment of Business
        * Management of Innovation
        * Marketing Management
        * Operations Management
        * Strategic Management.
        * Strategic Human Resource Management & Performance
        * Organisational Behaviour: Theory & Practice.

    Assessment

    The taught modules are assessed through a mixture of examinations and coursework (details of the assessment criteria for each module is given in its module outline). The taught element of the course is complemented by a substantial piece of research leading to the completion of a dissertation in a student’s particular area of interest.
