Master Integrated Governance in Health and Social Care

  • Objectives knowledge and skills within the domain of integrated governance, research, evaluation and practice development in health and social care. Practical aspects of the course are largely carried out at your workplace, in collaboration with employers and colleagues. Current students include clinical governance managers, audit facilitators, nurses, midwives, clinical risk leads, social care managers and occupational therapists.
  • Entry requirements You should have at least one years' experience within a health or social care organisation, and either have an Honours degree or demonstrate an ability to work at postgraduate level.

    -International Perspectives on Practice
    -Learning in the Work Place
    -Managing Change
    -A free choice module

    The MSc requires seven modules, the Diploma six and the Certificate three.
    There are generally five taught days per module.

    Teaching and Assessment
    Teaching takes the form of a combination of lecture, discussion, individual and small group work. Assessment is made of written assignments related to your work-based practice.

    Associated Careers
    You will benefit from consolidating and expanding your current knowledge base in preparation for developing your career within your own or similar organisations. The knowledge acquired is transferable across all areas of health and social care, thus enabling transition between different aspects of public and independent health care, social care and the voluntary sector. Employment may be found, for example, in posts within clinical governance, quality assurance, audit, research and evaluation, practice development, and clinical risk management.
