Content details
A stepping stone towards a career in the media industries. Your interests may include writing for magazines or newspapers, film or video production, broadcasting, mobile media or interactive content and design. This course will provide underpinning knowledge of how media products work, targeting audiences and an understanding about who owns and operates the media. In addition you will be given the opportunity to develop your basic skills ion English, Maths and ICT.
How is the course taught
Practical skills workshops using professional equipment, industry specialists, Apple macs, design software, video cameras and editing techniques. Lectures and seminars about the industry.
Assessment
Portfolio and continuous assessment. No exams, assignments, presentations
Course leads to
Progress to a specialist area in media at Level 3.
