    PgDip: 9 months full-time; 21+ months part-time

    This programme addresses the problems of analysis and design of foundations, embankments, slopes and retaining structures.

    Topics include:

        * Soil properties
        * Numerical analysis
        * Soil dynamics
        * Rock mechanics
        * Problem soils
        * Environmental geotechnology.

    MSc students undertake an additional individual project.
