  • Objectives This course has been designed to allow students to tailor their MSc award to build directly on their past studies and experience. It is an ideal course if you are a graduate and have a specific set of skills and knowledge you wish to develop to pursue a career in the electronics or IT industry, or if you work in the engineering industry and want to develop your knowledge and skills in specific areas.
  • Entry requirements Entry Requirements: A degree in an appropriate discipline, an HNC plus five years in industry, or an HND plus three years in industry. If you do not have these qualifications we will consider your case individually.
  • Academic title MSc/PgD Electronics and IT (flexible)
  • Course description Modern companies need professionals who can respond quickly to changes in technology and who have a knowledge of modern electronic and IT development methods. The ability to manage new technologies and ensure high levels of product quality are essential skills if companies wish to compete in world markets. The course incorporates an 18-week project that may be conducted in industry if you are studying full-time and this could lead to job opportunities on completion of the course. You will also have the opportunity
    to complete industrial case studies and be involved in ‘live’ mini-projects. If you are a part-time student working in the electronics industry, you may be able to relate your major project to an aspect of your company’s work.

    Course Content

    Modules include:

        * Product Management and ICS
        * Major Project

    The rest of the programme will be selected in discussion with the Scheme Manager.
    How To Study

    There are six taught modules and an 18-week major project. Each module comprises 48 hours of formal lectures and the equivalent time in selfdirected
    laboratories. If you are studying part-time you will complete three modules per year.
