ObjectivesTo develop students' understanding of the application of management principles to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies; To ensure that students have an understanding of the application of Human Resource management principles to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies; To examine the treatment of disadvantaged communities and groups discriminated against, by and within, the criminal justice context; To provide an opportunity for students to develop an understanding of the application of managerial principles to the police as an organisation; To provide opportunities for students to study a range of criminal justice, management and police science subjects and to write a substantial piece of academic written work.
Entry requirementsThe MSc. in Police Science and Management is an interdisciplinary programme of study delivered by the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, at the University of Portsmouth. This Higher Education award has been specifically designed for international and UK police officers, law enforcement practitioners, officials and others interested in policing, police management and the criminal justice system.
