  • Objectives Our innovative Masters course addresses the needs of strategic managers of information and Information Technology within the NHS. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates have the opportunity to study for an MSc degree and at the same time achieve the NHS Information Authority's Strategic Level Professional award in IM & T This Masters degree develops your skills in strategic IT management whilst enhancing your professional career in the NHS, providing excellent networking opportunities for studying alongside your peers in the NHS You will study each of the six core modules by a four-day block mode attendance at the University's well-equipped Telford Campus, completing study and assessment for each module following the teaching block Our modules are designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed for the strategic management of information and Information Technology; aspects vital to the continued success of health service provision in the 21st Century Having achieved the MSc, and simultaneously the NHS Information Authority's Strategic Level Professional award in IM & T, NHS candidates are ideally placed to develop their careers at the highest levels The block-realease programme incorporates two weekdays plus weekend for each module, and is structured to allow attendees to work at a pace that suits individual personal and work commitments. Additionally, both University and NHS based mentoring support is provided NHS participants complete a work-based portfolio allowing them to demonstrate their application of the knowledge and skills obtained within an NHS context
  • Entry requirements You should have an Honours degree - in a computing or information systems-related subject, or you have substantial IT-related experience All applicants should have an academic or commercial background in either IT or business In exceptional cases non-graduate applicants with substantial commercial experience will be considered Graduates and NHS IM & T professionals mostly come directly from the NHS and may be eligible for a bursary towards fees, which will be funded centrally by the NHS
