    Structure and Content

The Postgraduate Diploma constitutes the taught part of the MA degree, and students who perform at the required level may then do a Masters dissertation on a subject of their choice. Core modules for ITE include EFL methodology, grammar, phonetics and pronunciation, language, society and the individual, teaching practice and research methods. CPD students do a special seminar on teacher education; they omit grammar and add a module drawn from a range of those offered in the School of Education. You will have the opportunity to deploy your skills during a six-week teaching practice in Hungary where you will work at either primary or secondary level in the state system. Prior to this, you will undergo a thorough course of supervised microteaching in which you will be recorded on closed-circuit television, and have the opportunity to analyse your performance with support from classmates and a tutor.

English Language Qualifications: Minimum IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550.

    Scheduling of Lectures

Sessions will be held during the daytime; full-time and part-time students will be taught together.
