Postgraduate Diploma-MSc Engineering (Named Specialism)

  • Entry requirements Entry Conditions PGDip - a degree in a relevant engineering or technology course or an HNC/HND in a relevant engineering or technology course together with at least three years relevant industrial experience at an appropriate level. MSc - a minimum of a second class honours degree in a relevant engineering or technology course. All - English Language Qualifications: Minimum GCSE Grade C, IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550.

    The course has been designed to provide postgraduate education and training in the concepts and methods within a specialist engineering area and their intelligent application to problems within industry and academic research.

    It will enable you to develop a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the scientific principles, theories and practice in the chosen area of engineering specialisation.

    Upon successful completion of this course you will be more employable and have the potential to accelerate your career development.

    The PGDip consists of eight taught modules offered by the Faculty. Following successful completion of the PGDip students may proceed to a research dissertation leading to the award of MSc.

    Duration and Mode of Attendance

    Full-time PGDip - one academic year
    MSc - one calendar year

    Part-time
    PGDip - two years
    MSc - three years

    The course has a distinctive mode of delivery to facilitate part-time students. It involves distance learning, work/research based learning during the first and second semesters and one week blocks of study in September and January.
