This programme is offered by the newly-established Centre for the Advanced Study of the Arab World (CASAW), involving the Universities of Edinburgh, Manchester and Durham.

The programme is offered as either 1 year intensive training in Arabic (at Edinburgh) for students already holding a research-training Masters, plus 3 years PhD or 1 year Masters in 'Arabic Studies' for those already proficient in Arabic, plus 3 years PhD.
