Objectives
This degree meets the needs of students who wish to continue and develop further an interest in these complementary disciplines. The Degree Structure in the Third Year allows students to tilt towards either Politics or Sociology if they want. There are three compulsory modules in the First Year, (Introduction to Politics, World Politics and Sociological Imagination and Investigation), and one compulsory module in the Second Year (Political Theory from Hobbes) so that students pursuing this degree have a wide range of optional modules in both disciplines. They will encounter a wide range of academics from both disciplines. Students taking this degree are able to benefit from teaching in two highly regarded research active departments. Politics and Sociology students can apply to spend the Second Year of their degree at one of the Politics Department’s exchange programme universities in the United States and still complete their Warwick degree in three years.

Entry requirements
General university admissions requirements All applicants must possess a minimum level of competence in English Language and in Mathematics or a Science. A pass at Grade C or above in GCSE English Language and in Mathematics or a Science, or an equivalent qualification, fulfils this requirement. We usually ask for candidates to show a broad base of study at GCSE level (or equivalent) with passes in at least five subjects from a range of disciplines.
