Course description
BEng Environmental Engineering
Programme
Year one
During the first year, the emphasis is on the development of basic engineering and environmental knowledge and skills. This includes fluid mechanics, introductory geology, introductory chemistry, environmental engineering applications, environmental chemistry, sustainability and environmental processes.
Year two
You focus on continued development and use of skills and knowledge in environmental applications. This includes hydrology, site investigation, engineering thermodynamics, probabilistic and statistical techniques for engineers, environmental assessment, waste management, engineering geology and energy.
Year three
You examine some of the more complex environmental engineering topics and there is a strong emphasis on design and industrial applications. This includes air pollution, water treatment, engineering management and accounting, hazardous waste management, remote sensing, energy management, and soil and water pollution.
