Objectives
This course provides an opportunity to specialise in music technology, alongside classical composition, musicology or classical performance. We focus on the creative application of the latest hardware and software developments for the production of music. We currently use industry standard packages such as ProTools and Logic Pro alongside more experimental software. The aim is to broaden your awareness of both technical and musical possibilities. As well as developing skills in the normal range of recording, sequencing and hard disk recording software, we teach Max/MSP and other DSP programs to help you develop a deeper understanding of the potential of digital sound design.

Entry requirements
Entry Requirements Typical tariff offer: 280 points, to include a GCSE in Mathematics and English Language at grade C or above, and either: BTEC National Diploma in Music Practice or Music Technology at final grade DMM; o or an A level pass in Music or Music Technology, minimum grade C. We expect a good standard of musical literacy for those not offering A level Music. If you wish to take Performance or Composition you will normally be invited to an interview in late August or early September to assess your entry to the module.
