  • Entry requirements
    Entry requirements * Normally 220 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of two subjects at Advanced Level (or equivalent)* And * Normally Five GCSE's at grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths. However, we are also keen to talk to mature students (21+) who have relevant industry experience and/or relevant training but who do not meet the above formal qualifications. * BTEC Diploma/Certificate, Advanced VCE(s), Advanced GNVQ, Scottish Higher and Irish Leaving Certificate. A music qualification or aptitude, whilst relevant, is not a prerequisite to application and those with an interest in recorded sound are encouraged to apply.

    Programme

    This programme is designed for people who want to work in the audio and recording industries. Whilst it is targeted at people with an interest in the technological aspects of the industry, if individuals have more artistic aspirations we would still like to hear from them.

    The Degree covers the science and technology of audio and recording systems and how these systems can be used effectively in recording, mixing and mastering. It therefore equips graduates with the ability to join the music industry with a highly attractive portfolio of technical skills and abilities.

    Students will study modules which include:

        * Sound Recording, Mixing and Mastering
        * The Principles of Electronics and Acoustics
        * The Measurement and Design of Studios (recording and audio production environments)
        * The Integration of Sound with other Digital Media (such as radio, video, multimedia and the web).
