  • Objectives
    This course will equip you with the skills, knowledge and values to work in the wide and varied field of learning disabilities. As well as academic study in the university, you will undertake placement work with children, adolescents, adults and older people who have a learning disability to learn the essential skills in a care setting. The Department of Health (DoH 2001) have estimated that there are approximately 210,00 people with severe learning disabilities in England and a further 1.2 million people with mild or moderate disability.
