    Encompasses all aspects of public health approach to the attainment of optimal oral health. The areas of expertise are focused on communities and populations rather than on individual clinical needs of patients.

    The School of Dentistry is part of the Leeds Dental Institute which also includes the Leeds Dental Hospital of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The Institute is semi-autonomous within the University and the Trust and is responsible in particular for its own organisational arrangements. Postgraduate research and training is offered by the Institute in the Divisions of Child Dental Health, Dental Surgery, Oral Biology and Restorative Dentistry.
