  • Objectives
    This Foundation degree offers a part-time programme of study focused on the development of managerial knowledge and skills within various public sector contexts, including, for example, local authorities, the uniformed services, civil service and the health service. The programme is aimed at administrators who might not have degree-level qualifications in management, or at those in various professional roles who might require a management qualification.
  • Entry requirements
    Entry requirements * Students must normally have a pass in English Language GCSE at grade C or above, or equivalent qualification, plus two A Levels or their equivalent. Mature students (aged over 21 years) may also achieve entry through the Alternative Entry System or successful submission of a portfolio of evidence generated by the accredited APEL module offered by York St John. * Students required to take the Mature Access Paper will be offered pre-entry help and support. * A student may apply for accreditation of experiential learning, based on the production of a portfolio of evidence. * We welcome applications from those currently working in any part of the public sector, associated agencies and the independent sector. You should demonstrate throughout the application process your interest in developing a reflective approach to your work and a commitment to your own professional development as a manager within the context of public service.
