Objectives
If you are interested in what is happening in this country and the wider world, you should be interested in Law. Law affects everything that we do. Buying a ticket for a bus involves Contract Law. The running of your school or college involves Public Law. If you trip on an uneven pavement and injure yourself, you might sue in Tort. Being a lawyer can be a worthwhile career and law is involved in every type of work.
Contents of the LLB in Law with English as a Foreign Language.
The balance throughout the course is 75% Law and 25% language study.
Year 1
You study four modules: Method, Procedure and System; Public Law I (Constitutional and Administrative Law); Criminal Law; language.
Year 2
You take four modules: European Union Law; Land Law; Contract Law; and language.
Final year
You study four modules: All students take Trusts. In addition, you choose three modules drawn from: Business Management; Civil Liberties; Commercial Law; Company Law; Crime and Society; Criminal Justice; Economics; Employment Law; Environmental Law; European Human Rights; Forensic Science; French Law; Gender and the Law; Insolvency Law; International Trade; Legal Process; Media and Entertainment Law; Penology; Politics; Public International Law; Public Law 2; Roman Law; Advanced Land Law; Dissertation; Evidence; Family Law; Information Technology Law; Intellectual Property; Jurisprudence; Medicine and the Law.
