Four half modules from:
-Language and the Law
-Irish English: a Corpus Approach
-Phonological Concepts and Methods
-The Discourse of Humour
-Development of English: a Historical-Corpus Approach
-Language and Power
And a Dissertation of up to 15,000 words on an approved topic.

Graduates from the School of English MA programme have a good employment record. Professions including publishing, journalism, public relations, teaching, advertising, the civil service, business, industry and the media all recruit from our pool of students while some choose to continue their studies to PhD level, on a chosen, specialised topic, in English Language and Linguistics.
