    - The course is made up of negotiable learning units that enable you and your employer to look into areas of your practice that require investigation or change
    - This course only requires the completion of two compulsory elements: a dissertation, and a module that provides the skills and knowledge essential in planning a personal learning programme - you are free to design the remainder of your course to suit your personal, professional and organisational needs
    - You are allocated a personal tutor, who assists in developing your programme and provides support throughout the course
    - Through the compilation of a portfolio, it may be possible for you to gain up to 50 per cent of the award through Accreditation of Prior Certificated and/or Experiential Learning where your previous experience can be taken into account and put towards the credits required to pass the course
